I honestly really need your help, having this RR is like having a stubborn child.

I started the car today and had the air suspension in active warning sign and stayed on, ive seen it once before with hdc inactive but this was prob a poor battery and even when i turn over the car sometimes the screen goes off and comes back on which makes me think the battery is quite poor.

i got quite down about the inactive air suspension warning however i thought it must be the battery and as a test i thought ill disconnect the current one and put it back on and the error was still there. however one thing was really annoying me and that was that there was a lot of condensation in the car and all kinds of craxy electrical reasons came to my head but i thought ill just on the off chance see what the water is like the the boot and look WHAT THE F * * k I SEEN TO MY SHOCK HORROR!!!!

As bad as it is it's very common. I would start with removing one of those rubber bungs so the water can drain till the source if found. Do you have lights on the "height display" if not it's a dealer/ diagnostic reset. If this is the case remove the compressor and open it up. The black done comes off once the few bolts have been undone. Then you can assess the compressor. It may be ok. Next would be look round the left hand compartment under the rear 3/4 window to see if you can track down the leak. It is really bad, i just keep thinking its meant to be the ultimate 4x4 and the scottish rain has knocked it for 6 gutted lol.

anyway luckily for me, all the lights on the suspension setting button/knob area all light up, its currenty kept my normal hiight mode in the lock mode.

i have dried it out with towels and just before your post i thought i would actually do exactly as you said, put the heater on full blast with ac on, leave for 30 minutes and see how it goes tomorrow.

any idea on how i would trace the leak and are there any common areas of leaks?

Bloomin heck thats shocking!!

Deffo get the car running with AC and windows closed all the time and track that leak down. Dry the area really well and then leave some dry towel in there, hose the car back 1/4 down and check again to see if you can trace it.

I hope mine never leaks this bad

its as if some pregnant ladys water broke in the back, but that i wouldnt mind cause atleast id know where it was from ! LOL

honestly so bad... anyway the car is on full heat, ac on, i just really hope the compressor hasnt packed in, ill honestly be gutted.

It would be worth removing the compressor and taking the top off to dry the foam padding out, otherwise you could be there for months waiting on it drying.

If the lights are on don't unplug the compressor without the batt disconnected. If you do it will put a hard fault up and your screwed. The usual place is the glass/seal round rear 3/4, and I've heard of the tale gate seals leaking. thanks for the heads up, thats a good call...

ill take the top off i think there are three screws and let it dry. then ill hair dryer it for a wee bit i think (or not?) and if need be ill remove the crompressor.

i am assuming its ok to atleast take the top off ? the black dome ?

I've never taken one to bits but it should be straight forward, you will need to remove all 6 bolts I think. Hairdryer would work to help dry it out, just be careful not to get it wet and zap yourself

You might struggle. The compressor hangs inside the dome on three rubber bush's to reduce vibration noise. When you get time disconnect the batt and remove the compressor. Open it up and dry out with hair dryer or airing cupboard. Fingers crossed when it's dry and batt is reconnected the EAS fault should clear and compressor work. Then it's down to finding the leak. With that much water I would be tempted to remove media gear in the left compartment and give the contacts and block connectors a good clean with contact cleaner. Thanks rob, i think this is one for the weekend , first thing saturday morning I will strip it down, ill a wee write up too on taken it out etc as i dont think there is one on this forum, would be handy for someone else thinking of having a swimming pool in their tyre well.

To help find the leak I'd be inclined to get some electrical pvc tape and tape up the rear side window on the outside and the adjacent body seams and just wait for some more rain. If you tape up everything the car should be dry inside.
It's then a case of taking a piece of tape off one at a time and checking after rain to see if the leak has returned. You will eventually find the leak just takes time.
You can use a hose instead of rain but the leak could be so small it might not show up immediately. Looks as though it's been there a while from the amount of water.
