Battery is the usual culprit. If taking it to a dealer beware, it'll come up with erroneous fault codes such as catalyst below efficiency, and before you know it they'll be changing your catalysts for mega money, and not fixing it.

Strange question here, but when the check engine light came on, was your aircon turned on or off?

Speak to Dan at Harwoods Chichester - top man and he has 'helped' me out numerous times and really tries to help/sort car out and not fleece you. They are a Aston/Jaguar centre but have one man, Phil, that does Land Rover.

Based on my limited experience, Range Rover and strange a well aquainted! Joking aside, took the car up to Harwoods Pulborough and the error was lean on bank 1. Called me, advised they were going to test drive the car for 4-5 miles to see if it returned, which it didn't. Gave me a list of possible causes and noted we'd only done a couple hundred miles in the month since we've owned it and it was serviced and suggested battery may have been an issue. We've been on holiday half that time so haven't really used it that much. I was encouraged to take for a damn good drive, which I'll do tomorrow. Fair play to them, was slightly nervous taking it to them, but as right on my doorstep and an unknown, possibly serious issue, I didn't want to travel unnecessary distance. Thanks for the other dealer recommendations, which I'll bear in mind for the future. 2006 Supercharged 1990 Porsche 928 GT |

Forgot to answer the question AC on. It was Sunday afternoon (nice 'n warm down in the south) and was disagreeing with the wife over AC temp - she's still not 100% with the multizone Climate control yet... 2006 Supercharged 1990 Porsche 928 GT |
