What shall I do with these old 20" Overfinch 580s alloy

Hi all, just joined this excellent site, and just bought a 2002 4.4 Vogue after selling XC90. I now find myself cruising slowly around my town in my new favourite armchair, serenely waving on all traffic so I can drive a bit slower and stay in the car longer...

Can I ask for some opinions: my car has been tarted up at some time in the past, with overfinch rear seats, light guards, black badges and 20" Overfinch alloys - but I want to change them for standard 19" RR wheels.

Question is this: are they desirable or worth anything? Unfortunately they all need refurbs, most of the lacquer is peeling and a fair amount of corrosion. Shame, they were probably gorgeous once...

It has taken me a while to work out exactly which Overfinch alloys these are, as I just could not find any similar on ebay or google. In the end I found them: they are from an Overfinch 580S. Found them on youtube, on Top Gear's video: .

Do I refurbish them and keep them as rare and desirable wheels?

Do I refurb and sell on ebay because they might be in demand?

Do I not waste my time and just flog them on ebay with no reserve?

Tyres are all pretty new, but a mix of budget and mid range brands.

Thanks for any thoughts!

I think they're worth refurbing, might only cost £50 a wheel and then they are worth much more to sell. Discovery 4 HSE

they look to be in a fair condition and would very much agree they are worth refurbing , not too sure about the mix n match tyres tho , what size are they ? and would probly be worth no less than £500 refurbed at a guess Thumbs Up Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover

Thanks for comments

Yes, I should get some proper quotes for refurbishment. One local guy has suggested 30 quid each, but seems too low to me, probably just a quick sand a spray. I think I should get a proper job.

They are a polished aluminium front face, and mid-grey painted inners, so might be quite tricky to refurb.

Do you know anyone who has used a mobile refurb service - are they worth a go?

As they are (originally) expensive and rare wheels, I would get them refurbished properly.

What was the original finish - was it simply silver paint or something a bit different?

Welcome to the site by the way Thumbs Up Mr. Green

Sorry, our posts crossed over!

It's unlikely that a mobile refurbisher will be able to do paint + polishing, plus any repairs. I would get them sent away and professionally done Thumbs Up

interesting: when you say 'stormers', do you mean Range Rover Sport wheels? I thought RRS wheels wouldn't fit on a FFRR, or were not advisable due to weight ratings? But now I think of it, I can't remember where I got that from!

I am sure someone on this forum will have the answer, time I went to search...

Think Envoy means RR SC rims? If you have nothing nice to say,say nothing at all.

RR L322 Wheels are generally 8.5J wide and RRS 9J Wide. load ratings different due to tyres etc. e,g 20" wheels/tyres on the RR L322 are 255 50 20 with a 109 load rating rather than RR Sport 275 40 20 with a 106 load rating.

Stormers are for a RR Sport and are a 9J wheel so not officially recommended by LR although many fit them on their L322s

Hope that helps

Re the Overfinch 20" wheels they are not worth as much in the market as they are to the owner as most want 22" Overfinchs.

If you keep them i would send them off for a refurb/blast etc as mobile service is really a smart/ trade repair and after a few months the lacquer will probally breakdown again
