You can fit bars directly to the roof mounts of a FFRR, like these http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4...odid=21534 thereby avoiding the need for LR's expensive roof rails and bars. Obviously they are not as flexible a solution, but at less than 1/3 of the price I would compromise |

There are three mounts on each side. where these can be mounted. But if it is a fullsize box it will not work. Because the box will then be mounted either to much to the front OR to much towards the rear. The bars in your link only works with a short box or a bike etc. I have found out that the only way to mount a fullsize box and not having the roof rails, is using for example Thule roof bars. And you canīt use the "first" and "third" mounting whole in the roof. They are simply to far apart for the mountingpositions in the box. |
