best family 4x4 under 6k

im looking to buy a 4x4 for the winter, what do you's think is the best value for money.
ive looked at a couple of navara's ?

Navara's got rid of 2 of them on 57 plates engines are dire on fuel if EU3 spec Far to many gone...

If it were my cash then it would either be a D2 or a Trooper. Both are tough as old boots. TD5 engine is almost unbreakable although the Trooper's 3.0 D engine really needs regular oil changes. Either car would serve the owner well.

Shoguns are fine also but avoid the grey import versions. They are difficult to get spares for by and large.

ive had a facelift disco 2 auto but i had a few issue's with it.
ill have a look at a shogun or a landcruiser
