Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue
Test drove the MY2012 Jaguar XF

Got an invite from Taggarts to go and test the new model XF. I had a choice of models, and chose the 3 litre diesel S Portfolio, and despite my pre-conceived notions, I was completely blown away with it!

Looks wise, the Sport looks much more aggressive than the "soft" look of the previous years and inside the build quality was up there with anything I've seen, There's nothing that would make you realise you were driving a diesel - it's amazingly quiet and revs more like a petrol than a diesel.

Performance is amazing, and hitting the Sport button tightens everything up and sharpens throttle response.
It also has an 8 speed auto box, with flappy paddles should the need arise,

I've always been against diesel, but this car had made me re-assess my opinion ,it's just such a fabulous car!

Now where did I put that spare £50K Whistle Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Agreed, they are very nice - My missus works for Stratstone Jag so we've had the chance to drive most of the range at some time or other.

My only complaint about the higher powered XF (Diesel S / SV8 / XFR) is that they are all very tail happy in cornering, especally in the wet. Not sure if its the way i drive, the car itself or the fact the tyres hadn't properly bedded in yet...Now when the 4WD option appears, i'll be damn tempted!!!
