United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Rimini Red

We tow a 1999 Bailey senator California.

Keep thinking of changing for a newer pegasus 624 but seeing as it only get's used 3 weekends a year for the last four years it's still like new!

Plus it's got aircon! Whistle

Don't even know it's behind the TDV8. our 4.6 on lpg used to feel it on the hills but as said before. You really have to watch your speed with these newer engines! Thumbs Up

Well our first 'van is turning into a bit of a nightmare Sad

Bits are falling off it already (only had it just over a week!) even though its sole journey has been to our secure storage place, and the awning wasn't there with its annex and ground sheet when i picked the van up, they hadn't even warned me before hand Sad

I then agreed to let them replace for a slightly different one with annex and groundsheet, but they then phoned me up and said i owed them £400+ as i hadn't paid for it. I corrected them and advised it was all part of the finance. they then offered to go half way on the difference. We rejected it and now they have even pulled this and are asking for the full amount again.
This then got me furious so im going down the lines of rejecting the 'van under 3 parts,
1. they have broke the contract of sale.
2. the van is not fit for use as parts of it are already breaking off from just 1 journey home and have obviously been bodged in the recent past.
3. i've raised a complaint with the finance company that i have not recieved the quality of item i was intending to buy and not all of the items agreed in the sale have been provided to me.

Ontop of this looking through the invoice the cheeky feckers have even tagged on £140 for some starter pack they said was free Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I can't believe this is happening as we were all set for our first trips in the october half term Sad

I'll give them a chance to graciously accept the van back before naming and shaming on a few forums though Smile

Anyway due to my age I have to display an L plate on the back of it an the front of the ffrr while the mrs is in the passenger seat as by instructor!!!! Bloody stupid grandfather rights about towing over 3.5tonnes Evil or Very Mad so am hoping at some point after mid jan to take the category E test but not sure how they will respond to the use of venture cam now I have mine working

Don't take the test in your FFRR, you'll only get an automatic transmission category if you do Wink

Use the bog standard offering from a training school and take a couple of lessons beforehand. It isn't just a test of your ability to tow, you'll get a load of BS questions as well. There are standard answers to these which you need to know.

sorry to hear about your van problem mr pleb...i think once you have signed a finance agreement your argument is with them not the peeps that supplied the van, might be wrong though...

Just thought I ought to own up too - Sterling Europa 620 twin axle. Sat fine behind P38 and I am sure will do the same - but even better behind the L322.

One of the main reasons for changing though, was that I play the tuba and a BBb tuba in a case wouldn't fit in the boot of the P38 without folding one of the rear seats down. in the L322 fits a treat, as long as I remove the little floor cubby lid on the left - the allows the bell of the case to sit an inch lower and fit in without removing the rear shelf...

Any other brass band types on this board?

Great to see all you caravanners out there!! Well, I would say that, because I'm a caravan dealer!

Sorry to hear a few tales of woe, especially kingpleb - hope you manage to sort things out.

I converted my 4.4 to lpg, and it tows really well. I find myself going all over the country sourcing caravans and always look forward to a drive out.
