12MY 'Colour Coding'

Now, i'm not sure about you, but if the black grille surround looks out of place on a black car, what's it going to look like on others? Why isn't it colour coded like the side vents, door handles etc (all of which are an improvement IMO).

I'm with you on this one, something does not look quite right with that grill. Possibly it is the chromed lip that runs alongside the colour-coded part. I have seen colour-coded supercharged grilles before and they always look good IMHO, the difference being that they usually colour code the whole of the outside of the grill, only leaving the central bars in the original silver/grey.

I finally took delivery of my 2012 model !

I was starting to worry about the grill surround, but have to say I am glad I waited and have the 2012 version.
of course I might just be saying that because that's what I've got, but I do actually prefer it Wink

I haven't had chance to take photo's yet, but I will upload some when I have some time.

If anyone wants to see something specific, let me know Thumbs Up

meanwhile, I have to say the 4.4 TDV8 is just amazing. The power & torque is .......well, just wow Thumbs Up

With tinted windows it will look like a Northern Ireland VAT-dodge special, just like everything else with them does.

Cheaper to buy a Transit if you want something to look like a van.

Range Rovers look weird without tints IMO.

It looks stupid, particularly so when the law doesn't allow the front side windows to be the same colour.

Perhaps OK where it's very hot and bad taste is a positive (Gulf states, Florida etc), but in the UK? Leave it to the knuckle-draggers, bouncers and other wannabe-hard men.

"Limo tints" Laughing

Are they albinos or something?

I was ferried around in the back of various cars (LR products and otherwise) with see-through glass as a youngster and didn't develop skin cancer.

Or is it essential in the same way as carrying around a little bottle of water everywhere now seems to be? Just in case you get dehydration between Starbucks and Pret.

To someone with renal difficulties carrying a water bottle everywhere is part of ensuring they don't fail on you Thumbs Up

And yes having tinted windows for kids is a very important thing to me as a father anyway, yes i drove around in many a vehicle they could survive but it comes back to, do you want to give your kids the best shot at life they can, and if a window tint helps a tiny bit then im all for it, it means that can travel more comfortably and on longer drives as well, and helps reduce glare and strained eyes as well on the little ones!!

Why not just buy them a burka and a Michael Jackson umbrella in case they're not surrounded by black windows when they get out of the car?

I'd wager that people generally have dark tinted glass because they think it looks a bit flash, not because it's a cheaper alternative to Eton, Oxfrod and INSEAD for their precious offspring. Same goes for all the chromed plastic tat they buy from *edited* and the like.
