When I had the Jaguar XJL last week I noticed the reversing camera was incredibly clear, not slightly fuzzy as in the FFRR.

The reverse camera in the MY2010 RR that I borrowed for a week was much clearer than the one in my 2006.

DVDs look great on my 2006 screen, which indicates the camera is the weak point.

you'll probably find the original cameras were cmos type and the later ones ccd type which are considerably better.. |

I hooked up my after-market rearview camera (expensive) to another screen and picture was super sharp. This indicates our 2006 screen is poor in quality! '01 1.8i Freelander. Grey/ grey '06 4.2 S/C Buckingham Blue/ Parchment '15 5.0 S/C SVA Loire blue/ Black |

they are different cameras, the first cameras were cmos 380 lines, jumping to 420 later but still cmos, not a great pic, the 2006 and on used ccd instead of cmos this gave a better pic and had the same plug but on the 2010 use a hd camera and will give a far better pic.. but will not fit on to the earlier cars as it has 4 pins plus video and the earlier cars only have 2 pins plus video

you will have the ccd version, you wont get any better then that factory wise but if you fitted a after market you could get far better but it would have to be made fit, you can get cameras 540 lines and that will switch to black and white at night giving you 600 lines, you can fit extra ir leds behind the reversing light that will come on with reverse and light up whats behind you.
