Question for people with detachable towbars

If your towbar came with the polystyrene storage case, does that fit inside the storage bin in the rear right of the boot or do you have to remove the plastic bin and put the polystyrene case in its place?

My polystyrene case is too big to fit in the bin but too small to fit where the bin goes without rattling around.

My first L322 came with a storage pouch for the detachable tow hook and it stored in the LH cubby in the boot. On my current L322, no pouch and the LH cubby in the boot is jam packed with things like satnavs and TV receivers! In RRS and D3 there is a moulded cut-out in the polystyrene filler in the boot for the tow hook, jack and tool kit 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

The polystyrene case should bolt in. On the left hand side where the right hand bin came out there should be two bolt holes that line up with the bracket on the polystyrene insert.

What are you doing with the bin you've removed? I'm after one, had to replace my swan neck tow ball with the adjustable height one as it's too low for my trailer.

Thanks for all the speedy responses.

I wondered what the extra bolts were for. I thought they'd accidentally doubled up on the ones needed to clamp the electrics plug to the armature. Embarassed

All installed now and looking very nice.

Deep Down: I'm keeping the bin I'm afraid so that I can keep the towbar and revert the car to standard if I sell it on in a few years.

My new Thule roof bars arrived today so that's another little job to get out in the sun and do.

I've got a bin somewhere. Not needed as my compressor is in there now. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]
