Andy - I am not sure if the following helps or not...

I had a problem with the (non-existing) front seat heating in my 2007. Fortunately it has been fixed under warranty.

Apparently it is a relatively common fault - the seat heating is powered by warmed air, not an electrical element. The issue I had airses from a current level fault that is a real PITA to check. I was told that the drivers side seat on my car was disassembled for 2 days to trace the problem and get it sorted.

This may or may not be relevant but I thought I should share!

according to rave there are heating elements in the seat cushion so the seat is not heated by hot air..

Agree. Common misconception that 'Climatic Seats' have the heating as well as cooling done by air. As far as I know the heating element is separate. On all seats in mine, cooling produces an audible fan noise and heating there is no noise at all so I believe this must be done by elements and not fans.

I can only pass on what Land Rover Cambridge told me, perhaps that explains why it took them 2 days...

The problem is I have a 2002 Range Rover and in the past someone has installed seats taken from a 2007 model. I know this as I found a date stamp on the back of one of the seats
For weeks I’ve been trying to figure out why the heated seats don’t work, they don’t work because there not plugged in,
the wiring is different. There are two connectors; one with two white wires and a second connector with two white/yellow wires, a grey wire and a black wire.

I am assuming the two white wires are the seat element however I don’t want put 12volts across it only to find out it the air bag

That will work for the feed but won't identify the heating element

but once you have identified the feed then you can plug the loose plug into it...if you aint sure then whip the seat out and follow back the plug cable...
