The TD6 BMW engine (in BMW cars) used to have "swirl flaps" in each port of the inlet manifold. There were problems if one of these broke up and was sucked into the engine and turbo and munched everything in it's path. A Google search brings up lots of horror stories. I'm assuming that, as nobody on here has mentioned such a problem, either they're not fitted to the engines that went into the Full Fat, or (less likely) there's a disaster waiting to happen. I've tried searching the forum without much success.
