Brake Pad Warning

Just found that one of the front wheels has chewed up the wiring to the brake pad sensor. I have yet to replace it yet. Will the warning reset itself or will it require Testbook or similar to reset?

It takes a couple of ignition cyles, and I always found I had to leave the ign on for about 15 seconds for it to register, but the sensor goes open circuit to give you the warning. When you put a new sensor on and it goes closed circuit the message will go away.

There is no pad wear sensor replacement option in T4 etc... What diagnostics tool did you use to clear it?
