And 19" are much better in snow/mud etc. More sidewall to the tyre so less likely to damage the rim. Some MTR types of tyre also have mini tread blocks on the sidewall which gives good bite in deep snow or mud.

More choices of tyre for 19" than 20". Thumbs Up

My winter tyres are on 18's. Can't say I notice much difference between them and the summer tyres though - even though the summers are 255 and the winters 235. But then I drive like a gentleman. Laughing

But 18's aren't an option for anyone with the larger brakes, i.e. anything after 2006 when the Brembos became standard.

Andy, check out a bloke called Ken on either Disco3.co.uk or he has a dedicated section on http://www.disco3club.co.uk/phpbb/viewforu...211bd2d1de

Ken's a good guy and has plenty of deals.

Alternatively, you could call AJS4X4 who are a site sponsor on Disco3. Predominantly tyres, good advice and the occasional set of wheels.

Dom.

I have two sets of 18" with Winter tyres that are being refurbished in Dark Metallic Grey so they will look like new wheels with nearly new tyres.

PM for details.

Thanks Dan, they look good. A couple of questions though (I'm not very technical so apologies if these are stupid)

Are they genuine LR wheels designed for a FFRR (worried about warranty and insurance)
Are they the winter scorpion tyres (I'm not sure how to tell)
Are they standard size tyres
Do I need different bolts (I've got an 07 s/c)
Have you got any of the centre bits (in black)

Sorry for the long list,

Thanks, Andy '07 Supercharged in black with drug dealer tinted windows

Hi andy

Yep genuine wheels, part number LR008765 ( Style 8 )
standard size 19" alloys,
won't affect your warranty at all

Tyres are Pirrelli Scorpion Zero 111V Mud & Snow
255/55R19

Won't need new wheel nuts, as these are 07 onwards

I'll throw in the black centre caps free of charge
