No one said they would not come up with a name for this new product / L322 replacement...

More info in a few days Cool

I wouldn't pay £100k + for a Range Rover no matter how good it looks up that

If they are to also build the sport on the same new platform as well, then surely that price will increase as much !

Apart from the extra gagdets you get in the FFRR, I presume the current biggest build cost is the monocoque design against a chassis on the sport ?

Or do they not plan on making the sprot the same way ?

I must stop speculating, it's starting to hurt...... just have to wait and see. Hopefully 6 months should be enough time to know for sure....

But you can already spend over £100 K now !

Model & Engine Price
Range Rover 5.0 V8 Supercharged Autobiography £ 85,745.00
Exterior Price
Bournville - Metallic
20" Alloy Wheel Style 18 Shadow Chrome Finish £ 765.00
Interior Price
Tan Semi Aniline Leather seats £ 510.00
Autobiography Ash Burl Wood Finisher £ 1,940.00
Jet headlining
Options Price
Illuminated Tread Plates £ 305.00
Seat 'Style 3' Seat Pack: Passenger Memory, Rear Seat Recline, Front seat away, Lumbar, Heated/Cooled and Winged Headrests (only available with Adpative Dynamics) £ 1,665.00
Privacy Glass (Laminated) £ 665.00
Climate control heated windscreen £ 435.00
Active rear locking differential £ 750.00
Vision Assist Pack £ 1,085.00
Climate Control - 4-zone air conditioning £ 1,075.00
Park Heating with Remote Control £ 1,020.00
Ski bag £ 105.00
Rear Screen Entertainment Pack (includes DVD, 2 headphones, touch-screen rechargeable remote control, AVI panel) only with Logic 7 £ 2,450.00
LOGIC7® Hi-Fi (1200 watt, 19 speaker surround sound harman/kardon® system) £ 1,330.00
Full size spare wheel £ 205.00
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) £ 405.00
Tow bar - drop plate 7 pin (farmer) £ 660.00
Vehicle Subtotal: £ 101,115.00

& that's not including a custom paint job that you can add on the autobiograhpy - I think about another 10K

So actually if the 100K is a round about average price it's probably right !

All it'll mean is they'll depreciate faster, so anyone who's happy to go for a used one will get a higher spec more luxry vehicle for a better price even if it's a little more than current used values.

Check out bentley prices, then see what a 1 2 or 3 year old one costs - usually more depreciation than a FFRR !! Shocked

Whilst I am sure you will be able to spend upto and over £100K on the next FFRR, I don't see it being a model that aims to compete with Bentley or similar and start at that price. If LR wanted a car in that space to compete at that level, then they would not want the new clients to park up next to a 20 year old beast of the same name - they'll come up with a new model as they have done before such as with the Evoque

I don't think there's any doubt from the various interviews and reports that the new model will be going for the Bentley market.

Remember that it's only because of the reputation and image of 35-40 years of Range Rovers past that they're able to market it like that and to spin-off various other vehicles trading off the name.

" various interviews and reports"

Such as where links please Far to many gone...

Such as pretty much every magazine and internet article which has discussed it - Google works, but for example:

" ... top-spec models might even nudge into Bentley territory" Autocar

"Land Rover also plans on driving the Range Rover up-market, quite possiblyinto the $120,000 - $160,000 price range given its success not just as a luxury off-roader, but as a prestige icon." Automobile.com

"Design director Gerry McGovern has told CAR how the new Range Rover will be even more luxurious. 'We want these cars to be more proud, more important, more jewel-like,' McGovern said" Car

"As part of the firmly upmarket direction for the new Range Rover, sources say the interior quality will take another leap, with the kind of lavish materials and design typified by Bentley" Autocar

"The facelifted Range Rover is all about moving the car up market further and making it look "more formal" according to Land Rover's design boss Gerry McGovern.

But the next Range Rover [L405] is going to take that ethos even further.

'It's going to look so expensive that you think you won't be able to afford it' says McGovern" Autocar

"The name of the game is to move the RR models further upmarket – in price, in style and in engineering." Car

So people really think that they will jump a car £25k in price on a new model hmm i think not it would be commercial suicide, I am sure as they have tested the water with the two LTD edition Black and the ultimate where sales have not been up to expectation that they will still offer 100K + cars but not the base line models.
Expect to see i would think base Vogues ( if that name carries forward ) up by 7-10% IMO but let's wait and see shall we. Far to many gone...

............ so, if i change my FFRR every year and normally pay £25K to renew, but next time I have to spend more than £50K to get the entry level model (possibly 2WD), LR can count on me to be a happy and loyal customer can they? Think I'd be saying Ta-Ta!

As a project manager he'll doubtless be too busy 'taking actions out of the room', 'pinging emails across'. hosting pointless conference calls, and applying unrealistic deadlines to impracticable solutions.

(tongue fiirmly in cheek) Thumbs Up

EDIT: I crashed my BB code by using angle brackets.
