The VIN only includes the model year I believe.

Digit 10 If I remember correctly.

Does it make any difference - is the 2011 not identical to 2011.5 ?

Are you getting any battery issues with yours ?

I guess software doesn't matter as that will always be upgraded / uploaded as and when needed.....

Are they supposed to be fitting a different type of battery now then ? That may be something to check on yours.

have had a couple of issues where have been playing aroung with the satnav or using the tv with the engine off and after 5/7 minutes a message comes up on dashboard saying "low battery please start engine" and headunit goes into standby mode.
the car still starts ok
dealer has checked battery and has said that when they had battery issues on the early 4.4 2011 cars they replaced the battery but also changed the warning paramiters so that the warning comes on earlier before the battery goes flat.
now the new type "fibreglass matting filled" battery is fitted as standard there is new software to increase the battery drain before the warning comes on.
just waiting for LR to issue the software update.
not totally convinced but will be happy to have been proved wrong.
will keep the forum updated.
apart from this i am well pleased with the new 4.4 model Very Happy
