Alarm Issue

I have owned a 07 Vogue SE diesel for the last 18 months. It has not missed a beat and I am very pleased with it.

I do however have one issue with it. For about the last couple of months the alarm goes off each day between 8.00 to 8.15am. It is never before or after this period and it never goes off at any other time. I am just wondering if any of you wise people have any idea what is causing it?

is there a lorry or other vehicle going past it (if it's parked on the road) that is activating the tilt switch or glass tamper ?
Some vibrations / movement from passing vehicles can set off alarms.

or some annoying kid gives it a whack as they go past on the way to school /work ?

No it is not parked near a road as we live on a Farm. No animals or children go near it. It is almost as if it is pre set to go off at that time!!!!

member supershuttle had a similar problem, the suggestion was to disable the bonnet switch and this seems to have solved the problem..

Check to see if auxiliary heating or ventilation is programmed to come on at that time?

Pre-heat and vent has been known to create an issues due to the air movement inside.

Disconnect the bonnet switch first it's quick and easy, if that cures things you have found your problem and can either replace or service/adjust as I did, if not look elsewhere.

I was looking for air movement in the car, pre-heater coming on, steering wheel moving, suspension pump activating. I never thought it could be the bonnet switch until scarey suggested it - and it was! Geoff
