Battery Replacement - Brand/Supplier

Sorry to bring up such a commonly asked question but I wanted to hear opinions specifically for recommendations on battery brands and suppliers.

My 5.0 SC calls for a 850CCA , 90Ah AGM battery (019 size). So far I am looking at either an Exide EK960 (Exide are the OE for Land Rover from my research) from Tanya batteries however I have seen some conflicting reviews on them more recently regarding the quality and age of the batteries they sell. The other is a Halfords Advanced AGM019, locally available (and returnable for that matter encase of issue) although slightly less capacity than the Exide.

Exide EK960 - 850CCA, 96Ah - 3 year warranty (£133)
Halfords AGM019 - 850CCA, 92Ah - 5 year warranty (£153)
Bosch S5 A13 - 850CCA 95Ah - 5 year warranty (£165)
Varta - A5 - 850CCA 95Ah - 5 year warranty (£189)

Interested to hear others opinions and also if there was any issues programming any certain batteries to the car.

To the point Laughing

Where would be your preferred supplier? I can't get one locally so it only leaves eBay or Tanya it seems. 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC

If it were me, I'd use Tayna everytime. Advice is good, service and aftersales also good. I have used them for years without fault. I fitted an AGM to my 4.4TDV8 and the difference is noted.

Another vote here for Tayna. They delivered to Northern Ireland and for less than my local garage could buy it.
Delivery was quick too.

Think that settles it then, I'll give Tanya a go and order an Exide EK960. Thanks all!

How about coding? I've read that some don't bother and wait for the vehicle to relearn it? Is there pros and cons to both?

I've got an Ancel X7, so I have the ability to do it I think. 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC

+1 for Exide.

My Jag XF had a nearly new Exide EK800 in it when the Denso alternator decided to go short circuit. How a fire was not caused, I do not know. Once the short was removed, my poor battery was at 6V. I connected my 14V 60A power supply to it and it was barely taking a milliamp in charge. Anyway, I just left it and after several hours, the charge current began to climb. After many many more hours, the battery had recovered. I put it back in the XF and all was good. Stop start worked which is a sign of a good battery. That was 18 months ago and it is still going strong. I am well impressed.

I have just bought an EK960 for my 5.0 SC.

I do have SDD and so I ran the new battery routine. 2010 5.0 SC Autobiography Overfinch in Bentley Silk White pearlescent, 22" Overfinch wheels with 285/35x22 tyres
