Arromanches has a D-Day museum with a working model of the Mulberry Harbour. There are also the remaining caissons of the harbour on the beach there. John

been there and seeing those rusty bits of metal is really impressive....nice ice cream shops thee as well.. |

Quite a few years ago now was sailing along the French coast and anchored inside the caissons for lunch. Possible as long as the tide is in. There was a buoyed entrance channel. John

From Calais to Caen it’s just three hours or so & you get to go over the spectacular Normandy bridge.

Stopped at Honfleur last September. Biggest disappointment ever. Place has been ruined by over- commercialisation.
