The poll is already showing what I expected. A black hole in the 40-55,000 sector. I had long suspected that 2009 RR's were difficult to shift and that not many want to part with 50k for an 18 mth -2 year old car.

The 2010 facelift factor will not have helped the 2009 model and I am sure things will change when you can buy a lowish mileage 2010 for £45,000.

My sector the 25-40,000 market seems the most buoyant so I will be sticking with that.

Hopefully we will get at least 30-40 votes to get a clearer picture. Please vote if you read this

Voted, although to be honest I'm only 1 year into FFRR ownership and plan on keeping the car I have for a good few years. I have no idea if I'll replace it with another, and if so how much I'd be prepared to spend.

I like the car, but only bought it to tow a big trailer. If I didn't need to I think I'd more likely buy a Jag.

I don't do many miles as I have another car I do most of my miles in, so I think if I did replace it with another I would probably be looking at one 3-5 years old - maybe more.

Interesting that you've spotted this buying behaviour, and the logic is probably what I've just gone through. You'd either buy new/nearly new, or where the worst of the depreciation is over.

For me the model year is important. I wouldn't buy a late TD6, I'd go for an early TDV8, and I wouldn't go for a late 3.6, I'd get the early 4.4.

Say Gaz, if you spot a LHD one let me know. The Swiss Franc is very high against the £ right now and I'd be prepared to import one to sell on if the price was right. Have a friend also looking for one or an RRS.

But that depends on whether I like the new model that's coming & how much money I have at the time
Not sure what I'd do if I really hate the L405

I voted, but as I have INMOP paid top wack to many times for cars 911's various 4x4's etc & when I have gone back to update or upgrade same sales persons not interested or says your car has just been down graded in the glasiers guide what ever its called this month by another 1500 or 3k etc etc or we only stick it in the auctions so offer is well below what a car is worth , then say its 50k to change as if they expect you just to stump it up like it grows on trees I am aware that all things depreciate but I feel that its a one way street, so I made a decision to never buy another new car.

If I can find a 3.6 TDV8 3 years oldish thats been well looked after I feel I am still getting that 70 grand car but with half the cost but with not that first massive depreciation hit

Don't get me wrong everybody needs & deserves to make a profit but sometimes in comes at to high a price, although I did like that 50k Vogue I drove the other day I need to hide the cheque book  Mutt
