I have a 2012 TdV8, and the microphone is awful, ranging from a bit rubbish when I am stationary, to incomprehensible as I travel down the street.

I've just tried a new microphone which has made no difference. Any suggestions of where else to look?

To close this off i replaced the Bluetooth module with a refurbished one and the difference is night and day...

That’s great news it’s sorted. It sounds like the avenue I need to go down as mine isn’t great even after replacing the microphone.

Are you able to share where you got the refurbished unit from?

I might try reflowing the solder joints on mine before going down that route though.

Thanks David, that's interesting, they've sold quite a lot of them so I wonder if this is becoming a common issue now the units are aging.

I wonder what they do to "refurbish" them before selling them.

I hate throwing things away so would almost like mine fixing so I wonder if they'd want it as an exchange.

The new one certainly stank of something chemical.

What I found confusing is they seemed to be selling a whole lot of similar at different prices.
