I have been using CarPlay for a few years, but only as a Sat nav, but now I have had a new head unit fitted I have been trying to out various Apps to listen to radio and music.

As an example , I can listen to BBC sounds , but the only way to stop it playing seems to be by pausing it, rather than actually shutting down the App and returning to the Home Screen .

Am I missing something?
The only way I have found is to stop ,power down and select Home Screen on restarting.

Hi Mike

There's no built-in way to directly quit apps from the CarPlay interface itself. You need to manage the apps on your iPhone, not within the CarPlay display. To essentially "quit" or close an app in CarPlay, you need to do it on your iPhone, which in turn will affect the CarPlay display

I expected the CarPlay screen to allow closure of Apps directly without the need to touch the phone to keep it legal ?
I am still very happy with the display though.
I gave Waze a good try on Sunday and it worked perfectly.
