Potential Valuation Topic? ’56 Range Rover Vogue L322 | |
First of all - please accept my apologies if this is in the wrong section or not in keeping with the forum rules.
The time has come after 3 years (I think) to start the ball rolling on selling my L322. Foolishly (or not?) I checked out We Buy Any Car first (no intention of selling there but wanted a low figure) and they offered £1800 for it (Purely based on Year, 2007 and 134k miles I think). I’m under no illusion, I won’t get back what I’ve put into the car but I’d at least like to think it’s worth more than £1800! I bow to your superior knowledge and respectfully ask you take a look at the pics and the work done to the car and give a rough estimate please (if that’s not too cheeky to ask). If not, please just enjoy the pics and the work I’ve done to the car since having it
As you can see in the pics, the venturecam works, as does the GPS and reverse camera. I like to think the mods I’ve done are tasteful but I fully respect those who say that the car is perfect as it is and shouldn’t be modded. I’ve put in Land Rover puddle lights, upgraded the boost hoses to Britpart silicone ones (top and bottom pairs), removed the rust from the underside, treated it with Bilt Hamber rust converter, waited for it to cure, painted with Hammerite direct to rust for extra protection and once that was dry a final coat of Bilt Hamber protective wax (rather than Waxoyl) to seal the nasty UK road salt out from the underside.
Car flew through the MOT in Feb first time with no issues. The history (from 2016) is comprehensive - I love a good spreadsheet so in my care, the car has had everything documented, no matter how small. Drives incredibly well and suspension all works too! Interior is very tidy and in my care has always had rubber matts over the carpet matts. Don’t worry there’s been a dog in the boot - boot liner always used and I don’t think there’s any rips or scuffs in the leather. Heated steering wheel and front/rear seats all work. Webasto FBH works as does the remote control that works it. Mirrors fold in, TV works, sunroof works and drain holes always kept clean so no water ingress. No leaks (I’d know with it parked on the light driveway! That’s why the inlet manifolds were replaced, as it did leak all over the gravel).
Never had a DPF from the factory, EGR electronically and mechanically removed - no black smoke or anything like that even under boost going up hill. Gearbox High and Low range all works, as does sport without any nasty noises or clunky changes (probably helped by the 2-3 gearbox oil changes it’s had in it’s life). The tyres are amazing, had snow here over xmas and honestly the car didn’t skid at all. Massively impressed - all the traction control settings work too.
2018 is the last year it didn’t pass the MOT first time - So I’m taking that as a win!
Bad bits:
- Bumper has a few scuffs on the corner (car looks great from 10feet away lol)
- Driver side door mid and low speakers don’t work
- Rear tailgate upper has some rust on the bottom side that has been treated but not repainted.
- Rear wiper doesn’t work - I should stop been lazy and see if it’s a fuse or the motor, water still comes out.
- I don’t think the towbar comes off - or maybe I’m too thick/weak to remove it.
- Nokia mobile phone module failed - so I bypassed the fibre optic most kit with a bypass loop.
I think that’s it - sorry, longer than I thought it was going to be! Err, happy reading I guess and thank you for your time and expertise.
