TDV8 3.6 or 4.4

Can you folks please guide us in the pros & cons associated with the two different engine sizes. We're in the market for a replacement vehicle but not sure on which engine to go for - my gut feeling is 4.4 but???

4.4 all the way. Faster, quieter and more efficient.

Exactly. It is newer and costs more.
So if cost is not a factor... 4.4. Thumbs Up

i've just upgraded my 2008 3.6tdv8 for a new 4.4tdv8.
the difference , not only in engine performance , is remarkable.
transmission a lot smoother.
suspension feels more responsive.
oh.... and the new tdv8 sounds superb Thumbs Up

Yeah, but think of the depreciation on new (or newish) ones in a year or so when the L405 arrives. Mr. Green
It's a lot of money to some of us.

I'm just hoping the new one's so fugly it'll mean my 2012 will make me some money as they'll be sought after Laughing
Shocked

dOhhhh,,,,,,,,,,,,, a man can dream can't he............. Laughing

Back to the subject though, definately 4.4 if your budget can stretch. There's only an edge on the performance between them, but you will notice it if you drive both. And of course as all of us are misers, you have to think about the much better fuel economy on the 4.4 Thumbs Up

4.4 all they way - smooth, powerful and even frugal (..... for a FFRR).

As others have mentioned, the sound of the 4.4 under acceleration is really quite nice!!!

i understand what you are saying about depreciation but if i was worried about that i probably would never buy a premium car.
probably a little kia or something.
i work bloody hard all week and have taken risks all my life so i feel i can justify to myself spending a lot of money on things i like.
i realise that not everyone is in this position but you cant take it with you..
and you're dead a long time Big Cry

If you look at my post it was in reponse to Scarey, who (and I hope he won't mind me saying this) probably doesn't want the depreciation of a new FFRR. Or the new sticker price.
Those of you that can, do. Got no problem with that. Rewards for success make it all the better. Cool

We all have different priorities with money.
Mine is a future for my young family right now, so rather than drive a new FFRR I buy work vehicles that generate an income or buy to lets that'll give me and my child(ren) a pension in years to come. I can't afford to do both.
When I'm older I'll probably say that's enough and splurge on a new gen-FFRR. Laughing

It's choice. Thumbs Up

Not concerend about the depreciation or the outlay, 4.4 every day as I said. Very Happy
