Front Lower Arms

I'm looking to replace my front lower arms, does anyone have suggestions / recommended suppliers and/or brands for them?

I've noticed most only replace the lower arms, is it worth replacing the top arm / bushing while doing the lower arms?

Lemforder are a decent brand they might even be OEM (not sure on that but someone will know)

I don’t think the top bushes will need doing just because the lower arms do, however while you are in there it would do no harm to do it all. That’s generally my philosophy and the whole job is still cheaper than the garage doing just the arms.

I paid a specialist independent £760 to have the front lower arms done using genuine parts, if you wanted a guide to costs.

Yes Alex is right, Lemforder are the OEM supplier, I did mine a few years ago, made an immediate difference to the wooliness around mni roundabouts etc.

You may need one of THESE:

I bought mine from ebay. Had the car 2 years and no issues. I did not use a joint splitter. Good crack with a hammer and they came out easy enough.

Plan for an hour a side. If its your fist time prob a 3 hour job. Easy enough.

I think the top ones are a mare to do. The bottom ones stopped an annoying thud I had and really tightened up the steering. Deffo worth doing X5 40d

Mine were a total b*tch, no amount of hammering/heating worked.
The splitter did them (after a week with no car) in seconds.

I remember my first set, heard the stories about damaged hubs and and generally being a nightmare. Waited nearly a month for the hydraulic tool to release them from the hub

Undone the lower nuts and both sides fell out Rolling with laughter

But on the other hand, we've experienced those nightmares too
