Interior rear light - not coming on when door opens

Help please.

I know it's only a minor fault but it's driving me mad.

I have tried everything I can to clear the fault including disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes (and shorting out the wires) and using the iidtool (G2) to perform a "soft reset" of all the ECUs.

There was a short circuit on the front map reading light (one of the cut-able links was touching ground) but I have repaired this and replaced the fuse (57).
I am fairly confident that this short is what caused the solid state drive protection to activate (it would short the driver output when the rear interior light switch was on and the door was opened)
All the interior lights are now working fine except that the rear interior light does not come on when the door is opened (it works fine with the switch).
I have consulted the wiring diagram (from the wiki) and have tested the wire from the BCM (C0580-1) to the interior rear light (C0357-Cool for short circuits to ground by using a multimeter (on 20k ohms range). I tested this at the rear interior light with it still plugged in and the circuit was completely clear (open circuit).

I have read that the dealer can "enable protected circuits" with the JLR SSD or Pathfinder software and i have also read that the iidtool can also do it but i can't find this function anywhere in the menu.
I would have thought that a "soft reset" via the iidtool or disconnecting the battery would do the same thing anyway but I am not sure.

I now suspect that this particular output from the BCM has blown and I am just going to have to live with it (and the knowledge that my car is not fault free) or fork out for a new (or used) BCM

The interior lights on when entering the vehicle function, can be disabled by holding the light switch button in for approx 5 seconds . I would first check that this hasn’t been accidentally enabled.
I think to reactivate them is the same procedure.

Hi Dtech

Thanks, but all the other interior lights are coming on. it's just the rear interior one that doesn't.
