Thoughts and Opinions Please - Prospective new buyer

Hi All,

I’m currently in discussion with trying to purchase my first ever RR Sport. Details below:

RR Sport 2016 4.4 Diesel
69K Miles
FSH (2x JLR, Rest Independant) - The JLR database has a record of each service online
Latest Service - Feb 2025
MOT - Latest MOT. Today (Passed)

Questions:
On Todays MOT, the following was flagged:

ADVISE: Inspect condition of DPF (Smokes when accelerating hard, DPF Pressure low) historic faults with boost control solenoids (p0048 and p0047) cleared faults road test all ok, slight oil leak from top/rear of engine further investigation needed

What do people think of this? Should I stay away? Is it worth an RAC inspection? Any help would be massively appreciated!

Oil leak will probably be the oil cooler. Quite common on the 4.4. Prob be £800 to £1000 to replace though you might get away with just the seals.

Smoke wise, I’m no expert, but might need a good run if it’s been shunted round the car lot for a while.

There is a separate Range Rover Sport forum where you may get more model specific help. This forum is for the bigger L322, L405, L460, but the 4.4 is in the earlier 2, so we have some knowledge.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Baltic Blue

I have a sport as well as a Vogue ,

They do drive differently my 68 plate sport, has a lot firmer ride.

Can't decide which one I like more, they are both brilliant cars. 2013 Vogue 4.4 TDV8
2014 Defender 110. now sold
2018 Range Rover Sport.
