DPF and claims v JLR

I'm getting bombarded with adverts for claims about failed DPFs and alleged manipulation of pollution data for LRs.

I'm getting almost as many about commission levels on PCPs.

Are these real issues or just sophisticated phishing for personal details? 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

The latter, but the PCP dealer commission thing is based on a High Court ruling which the banks will appeal as far as they can. 2024 - 2021MY L405 5.0 SC Portofino Blue

Cheers.

I know the courts have told HMG that they can't stop the PCP issue being pursued, which indicates to me that the SMMT have tried to have a word about it with various ministers. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Right then, maybe we should clear something up about diesel claims and Finance scheme claims!
I've got both of these going on at the moment.
Diesel claim for a 2011 Merc E220 from 2020
Finance claim from last year on Two cars through GMAC and one through Close Brothers.

My next door neighbour bought a new Diesel Golf in 2014, and set about to claim the diesel scam.

None of us have had a penny despite Volkswagen being fined and losing the case, and I don't know anyone who has been paid out

Conclusion: The scam is the so called companies set up to 'assist' with the claims, if they are doing it on a no-win fee (as we don't pay for their time, who the hell pays for all the employees time to deal with the claims, or are these claims being dealt with and the money just not getting paid out).
Sorry if this comes over as very dubious of institutions, but it seems that no-one can be trusted anymore!
Am I wrong?

As far as PCP & Finance claims go then you do not need any third party company help as they are only in it to relieve you of as much compensation as they get!
Everything you need to know on how to proceed with a PCP claim yourself and therefore retain 100% of any payout that you may be due can be found here

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/reclaim-car-finance/

Give it a read and then use the template at the bottom of the page, fill it in and let it generate your complaint for you! It couldn't be simpler!

Regards the DPF issue then the same applies to third party companies however any payout that may be or may have been due will most likely already have been absorbed in 'no win - no fee' arrangement of doom! You can still handle all this yourself but you need to be sure it will be worth the hassle for the DPF claim. _______________________________________________

It's not about needing a third party.................I don't know anyone who's ever been paid out, do you?

I feel a Bricktop quote coming...

Being hammered with cold calls about this recently - I’m wondering if the dealer flogged my info after it went in for a service last month…
