Yep, that's the part, IIRC you can't dismantle it without wrecking it, it's plastic moulded around the small stat... If you remove it I guess you could try the whole thing but that means doing the job twice and trying to test it's flow while it's a lot hotter than hand hot...!! Pete

The manifold also heats up the fluid when it's cold so although you would get a difference in temp output it might be hard to decide which is which and whether it should be hot or cold...!! Pete

Thanks Pete, I guess I'll buy the thermostat housing and then get a new oil cooler if that still doesn't drop the temp sufficiently. |
