Yep, that's the part, IIRC you can't dismantle it without wrecking it, it's plastic moulded around the small stat... If you remove it I guess you could try the whole thing but that means doing the job twice and trying to test it's flow while it's a lot hotter than hand hot...!! Pete

Thanks everyone.

Quick thought, is it possible to use an infrared thermometer on the pipes of the lower radiator/oil cooler supply Thermostat housing to see if the pipes to / from it are heating up? As I assume if it's hot one side feed, but not the other return, then that would prove there's an issue with the thermostat?

Or is that not possible?

The manifold also heats up the fluid when it's cold so although you would get a difference in temp output it might be hard to decide which is which and whether it should be hot or cold...!! Pete

Thanks Pete, I guess I'll buy the thermostat housing and then get a new oil cooler if that still doesn't drop the temp sufficiently. Thumbs Up
