Romania 2016 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Santorini Black
Buyer’s Remorse After 10 Minutes-L405

I just purchased my first, and I assume last, Range Rover, MY2016, Vogue. It’s my first Land Rover product of any kind. I bought it as an additional vehicle as we’ve simply grown beyond a one-car family. Our other car is a 2009 Q5. The Audi has been a workhorse and great machine all around. I bought the RR from a local individual here in Romania (I’m American) who’s well known and a seemingly decent, honest gentleman. The owner had purchased a new RR, and this car sat for three months. He agreed to my mechanic giving it a thorough inspection, produced the full service history at our local JLR dealer. My mechanic gave it a clean bill of health, said it was very well maintained. Now we get to the not so fun part. I paid in full and the owner had the local JLR dealer install a new AGM battery, as agreed. I took delivery of the car, drove it home 10 minutes. It ran perfectly. I stop home for 15 mins before going to pickup my wife and kids, who were skiing. Car won’t start. Lower screen lights up, dashboard nothing. After 10 mins, it inexplicably lights up. I drive up the mountain and all is well. Get home, turn off the car, try to restart, same thing. The owner has since taken the car back to JLR to resolve the issue. I paid for the car a week ago, in full, and it functioned properly for exactly 10 minutes! I now am awaiting for the car to be returned. I’m supposed to drive to Austria in three days for a family ski trip. The owner will likely return my money if asked. I’ve already paid for insurance and new snow tires, around €2000 total, and don’t want to cut my losses if it’s a quick fix. But then, I bought a car which lasted 10 minutes before needing to go in the shop for an electrical issue. I’m unsure how to proceed.
