I believe Ghost's can now be bypassed.

Not sure how true it is.

England 2018 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

it was only a matter of time until they were, however it is another line in the defence that may encourage some scum to move on to the next target. I have a view, that I wont air here, how I would go about negotiating the Ghost system and it isnt rocket science.

A multi layered approach of physical barriers (disclok), covert method (ghost) and 2 trackers has me as comfortable as I could be. I wont stop a determined thief, or one with a faraday caged truck, but I guess if I came across one of those I'd be unlucky. First time FFRR owner

You believe? then not sure you believe?

Proof? I see some cheap copies on eBay with ghost in their description but not the real thing. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

@nbunney:

Yes, share your source, then we can collectively investigate for the good of all? Whistle

Heresay is just worthless gossip, isn’t it? Surely your comments will prove to be well-informed, of course. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Anything can be bypassed if your willing to spend the time & money to achieve that. In the grand scheme of things, how many Ghosts are fitted to all the cars out there. At a guess, a lot less than 0.1%, so why would you develop something to bypass it, considering you don't know what cars have Ghosts in the first place. With relay theft, all cars are fair game as long as you can get a signal from the keys, if not, you go around the corner & find another one.
How many people with cars even know or care what a Ghost is. It's probably only people who have an interest in cars or forums. Personally speaking, the Ghost was in my car when I bought it, I would probably never had it installed otherwise & never had it in any of my previous Range Rovers. I also have other high end cars running without Ghosts.

I came across information, whilst researching alarms for my impending return to an L405.
And it had something to do with the earth.
Obviously you have to find the thing 1st.

Another high spec immobiliser manufacturer / supplier also advised me that 'Unfortunately the Ghost system can still be bypassed. Whereas with our system it works very differently which is why we have never had a vehicle stolen in the 9years that we have been trading.'

The good thing is that my insurer are not requiring any additional security.

And if thieves want you car they will take it, no ,atter what. Even if they lift it. Doesn't matter what deterrents you have.
