Tesco were on the board for mine. But still too much.

Lots of randoms in the £800 ish bracket. Could have got into the £500’s with a telematics box from Hastings.

Darwin seemed quite reasonable too, think it’s a branch of Churchill. But I’ve got the Lads car with Hastings and they’re been fairly easy to deal with so far with his for the past few years. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Insurance renewal time for me now. Admiral essentially unchanged this year at £1149 but as I got the car halfway through the year it was easier to throw it on my Admiral multicar with all the others. Don't want to be paying that much this year though!

Hastings coming in at £670ish through comparethemarket. As above could get it slightly cheaper with a black box and no glass cover, but I'm not doing that.

Anyone else worth looking at that isn't on the meerkat sites? 40yo, tons of NCB, rural. Need EU cover.

edit: Oh yeah, it's a 2015 405

If you’re rural, try NFUMutual

NFU weren’t taking on new customers with Range Rovers (don’t know if that was a local office decision).

I also asked our local NFU office in Northamptonshire to quote but they took aren't taking new L405 customers. "There is no replacement for displacement" - W O Bentley

Good to know. They have covered all my LRs for 25 years with no issues. They also provide my home contents/building insurance. Renewal is April, so let’s see what they quote…

Years ago I asked them to quote on my Mini JCW and the premium was preposterous, so that is covered with AA.

I switched to Tesco insurance last year as they were by far the best quote.
Today I have received my renewal quote from them and it is almost £5 cheaper than last year!

A quick rummage through a well-known comparison site couldn't get within £100 of the renewal price so it looks like I will be sticking with the same insurer. Current

NFU still the most competitive for me, but I'd stay with them even if, within reason, they weren't. As my claim experience a few years ago was top class.

No idea how they make underwriting decisions though, as they are wildly uncompetitive for some, with no obvious reasons.

I've just managed to get my L405 down to £525(!) with Hastings 'Direct' (not the black box policy, it has EU and glass cover etc).

They originally quoted £679 but when I went to buy it I noticed they offer multicar policies, so I added my wife's car and miraculously it brought the RR down to the £525. And the price for her car was only 3 quid more than Aviva wanted, so a good result!

I've had all my cars with admiral multicar for the last 6-7 years and this is the first year it was (significantly!) better to insure them all separately... Well, until Hastings multicar anyway.

On my other vehicle (EV) I saved nearly £500 by going with a ‘black box insurer’ It’s actually an app on my phone. My score is currently 93 out of a 100 (updates every day)
It got my premium down from £900 to just over £400 Smile

As for my RR, I don’t know why I even bother insuring it, it spends most of it’s time on my drive way broken down Censored
