Parking sensors not working

Hey all, my Westie has suddenly decided that the parking sensors are no longer sensing. When I move into reverse, I get a long beep but no more sensor action. I've pulled the codes and the culprit is "B1B50-96 - Rear left inner sensor -Component failure - internal failure (6Cool".

So I suspect my left inner parking sensor has stopped working. Does the hive mind concur? How easy are they to access? If they're easy to get to I can try switching 2 sensors over and see if the code moves. The sensors seem pretty cheap. Any other suggestions?

A quick update on this, I reset the codes with teh Gap tool and the sensors are now working again as normal. I'm taking that as a win.

This can be water ingress in to the sensor so don't be surprised if it comes up again.
I've had them before when they work if it's been dry but pack up in the wet.
It's also worth checking the wiring to the sensor before diving in and ordering a sensor.
Hope this helps. 2012 TDV8 4.4 Westminster Santorini black

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it. What's the best way to remove the sensors? I've seen videos which suggest to go from behind the bumper and there's an access hole in the right place. Do they simply push out, i.e. for the rear ones, push them away from the car?

This is really useful to know as my parking sensors have started doing the same thing just in the past week.
Hopefully a simple fix too.

Here is a decent guide we wrote - if it's the module and the problem is occurring when it's rainy.

Good luck.
