Definitely. They suddenly opened their eyes to a can of worms and closed them again in the hope the problem will fade into the background. Lost all patience and trust with jar long ago.

If keyless is off, they won't do anything.

If you turn it back on, then after 3 minutes of zero movement they go to sleep thus rendering relay attacks void (useful to keep in a Friday box for added layer).

I got my batteries last week, received an email on Monday to tell me they are shipping them Laughing

Still says my MY17 is due an update and they will write to me when it is rolled out, but yet to get that part done.

My batteries turned up yesterday.

I heard they may go flat pretty quickly - anyone experienced that?

Twisted Evil
Hi, sorry but I simply have to disagree again! Rolling with laughter Laughing

(Gremlins love to disagree, it’s in our nature) Evil or Very Mad

With keyless off, the smart batteries will still do their thing, (not being so smart as to realise keyless is really off) and er, sleep Embarassed after a few minutes, which surely will make the batteries last longer than normal batteries, you would have thought?
Or, am I missing something? Maybe the extra bulk of the onboard electronics steals half the space, so the smart battery capacity is way less than an el cheapo battery? Shocked Whistle â€śIf it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

You could be right Gremlin...

The batteries are around ÂŁ100 though, so the economic benefit might not be worth it

i'd be pleased if that's the case.

I have keyless on - the solution in theory is elegant - that the batteries sleep when stationary.

But I did read somewhere they don't last as long as a normal battery - if they do fantastic. I've only just got mine so can't comment yet. --

A well-heeled person, in the interests of the greater FFRR good, could simply buy both types and drain them to death on a battery tester to see how many mAh each has? Any takers? Whistle Bow down Bow down Bow down â€śIf it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Powerful uk do a kit that uses standard batteries with a shield type thing that turns the battery off after similar inactivity meaning you continue to use CR2032 regular batteries and the kit is half the cost of the sleeping batteries.
