Technical Service Bulletin

I know Recalls are carried out free of charge.
Is it the same for a TSB?

I’m working my way through the search function and a I’ve come across a few TSB’s that could be relevant.

Will a Main Dealer be able to confirm if my car has had any TSB work carried out?

The online mot check shows that my car has no recall work outstanding, although I’m not sure how accurate that information is.

Thanks

No, they won't carry out TSB work FoC. The TSB is just a set of instructions for the dealer for how to identify and address a known issue. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Hmmm not strictly true Mike...

TSB's are sent to MD's by JLR informing dealers how best to fix technical issues! JLR wont recall the vehicles as the issue may not be deemed unsafe!

So, my L405 for example has had the TSB for clunking front suspension... This cost, a pair of new front struts, a new revised front ARB, 2 new front lower arms & a revised valve block... All this work would have cost several thousands of pounds BUT JLR paid for the lot! Now i have extended JLR warranty on my car & when the main dealer contacted them they said "no chance, its an existing problem with a TSB so approach JLR for payment" The MD did and was paid by JLR...

Im not 100 sure weather this is fact across every TSB released by JLR but clearly in this case it was... Thumbs Up

Okay let me revise my wording. They're under no obligation to carry out TSB work FoC...

When was this done Craig? My one I’ve just picked up feels like it has worn front bushes and makes a clunk noise over larger bumps potholes. It’s not very loud but intrigued if mine has the same. 2016MY Carpathian 4.4SDV8 Autobiography (Stolen) 😡

I know this is an old thread but I have just purchased a 2014 L405 with a front end clunk, what is a TSB ? and should I take it to a main dealer to ask about any work that may be outstanding.

TSB’s are used if a customer presents a car with an issue, they have identified a fix and published this to assist with proper repair of the vehicle. Not to be confused with a recall.

A main dealer will be an expensive way to have any problem investigated. With or without a TSB I can’t picture any manufacturer paying for a repair like that on any 11 year old car.
