I am new to the world of Range Rover and a couple of months into ownership have had the engine light come on with the errors p0546 and p2080 which appear to relate to the EGT sensor 1 bank 1. If someone could help steer me in the right direction on which sensor to replace that would be very much appreciated. I have had a good search of the forum but not come across this error code.

I would put a dedicated LR code reader on it and see what it says. I'm just not sure you can trust the results from a generic reader. Having said that, I'm not sure what options you have with an L405. iCarsoft is cheap but I don't know if it supports the L405. Or IID?

You could try starting a new thread with a title along the lines of "Help Requested - Read Codes nr Taunton" or similar.

I have a G3 IID tool quite handy TBH, but it thought it was locked to my car and only my car. I'm north of Taunton, outskirts of Bridgwater in fact. so if its possible I can use my IID tool to read your car. You've bought WHAT!! |

It was on my last RR but from memory it was a an EGT sensor that needed a special tool to be able to reach. I went to a specialist who said if he could get it out it was c£300 to replace but if the sensor broke it would be about half a day to a days labour as he would need to take the engine out. I went to JLR dealer and they said it was c£400 fixed as they had to go by the hours in the book no matter what happened. So I went with JLR.
