Who’s the insurer of choice these days?

I’ve just pulled the trigger on a 405, subject to getting it insured. Our cars are currently on a multi-car policy but as of a few months ago, they wouldn’t cover a 405. No issues with the 322. I plan to keep the others on the multi-car for now.

Top tips please. 2021 3.0 P400 Vogue - coming!
2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - going!
2007 3.6 TDV8 Vogue - gone!
2003 V8 HSE (LPG) - gone!
2018 F-Pace 25t Portfolio
1974 LR Series III Lightweight FFR
2014 BMW 640i Gran Coupe

Hastings were the cheapest for me - LV wouldn't insure. Make sure you get a quote 21-26 days in advance as it's the optimum time frame for the cheapest rates. I got a quote and then insured some 5 days before going live and the cost had gone up £200!!

I went with Aviva for the last two years. Great policy and yet still the cheapest (£920 originally and then dropped to £740 last renewal).

I’m back with Hastings again after a couple of years gap. RAC last year but they were like £100 more at renewal.

Go Compare tends to be my go to, rightly or wrongly….

I find it odd that people are recommending Hastings. I was with them for eight years (Jag XFR and RRS) but when I changed my 5 Ltr RRS for a FFRR P400e at the end of September, they refused to cover it; telling me, "We no longer insure Range Rovers," when I rang them for a quote. Ended up with Admiral, as they gave me the cheapest quote.

Hastings cheapest for me this year £710.

Admiral the last couple of years, before that I was with swiftcover for years but they won’t quote now. Admiral was £950 on renewal down from £1200 last year. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

SNAP NMJ!! Been with LV and others for years with my L322 but Hastings come through on my L405 when no others would quote (£698).

Reckon we're in a similar bracket (oldish {62} but going still strong)

Think I was with LV 4 ish years ago and they wrote and said they wouldn’t renew, though I’m sure they said no longer doing car insurance, which seemed strange.

As you have a group policy, I'd try Clegg Gifford, I've been with them since the 1990s: https://www.cginsurance.com/product_type/multi-vehicle-insurance/ 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black
2018 D300 SE Velar in champagne
1982 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit in green
Spiffing wheel centre caps, L322 sill repair panels, etc

Tesco for me. Been with them for 4 years and they were still the cheapest by quite some margin, albeit, the premium from last year was higher. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black

Just done Tescos too. Was with Hastings. Could have stayed with them for cheaper than their renewal quote using the comparison sites - but that always annoys me so I'd prefer to move on. Tescos were incredibly cheap, but that policy didn't include driving other cars and its something that happens to me several times a year. Had to go £200 more to get other cars with Tescos but that was still £100 cheaper than Hastings.... Mike - MPx
