I've always used a general rule of thumb on cars that they depreciate at 20% per year on average (reducing balance basis, not straight line), so after 3 years it will be worth more or less half what you paid for it.

Lots of resistance to EV's so I would expect they would at some time increase in value. Remember the shortage in manufacturing during covid and price certainly for FFRR increased, they went higher than the price I paid for mine! Such a fool I was I should have sold it, and got a 5L 6 months later 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

Mine seems to be worth about 18,500 trade at the moment and 24-26k on the forcourts. I’ve had it 5 years and paid 38,000 from a dealer. So I’ve lost 22,000 on it roughly in 5 years. Don’t think that’s too bad. Lost the same on the Mrs Kia in 3…..

What about a Defender? They seam to be holding good residuals at the moment? Don't know when that particular bubble will burst though? |

One of the reasons I ended up in a D5 commercial Craig. A new deafener hard top was just too much money with any sensible milage on it. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Cheers and agreed - the Defner is way too much money - for me anyway.
