access to dealer programming equipment

hi all

does anyone on here have access to dealer programming equipment e.g. T4 that could program my brand new LCM ECU, i have a faultmate extreme but i cannot do the 'first' program with it as i need to enter the VIN number and milage data, if you are in the northwest even better!

Thanks
Matt

I believe AutoLogic can do this for you. You're much more likely to find an indy that has AL rather than T4.

My local guy just lets me drive in, hands AL to me and lets me mess around with it till my hearts content for £40 per hour! I'm sure last time I was messing around with my LCM settings there was an option for "initialise new LCM" or something.

Try A1 Landrover in Burnley. 0161 763 4300. They have £20k of test equipment. Not sure exactly what they have but worth a call. They worked on mine when it went to the dealer and they couldn't sort it.

K Motors Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I wouldn't trust them with my 7 year olds push along scooter

OK if you have a horse.

Oh and they use autologic - enough said. Whistle

Nigel, really, you don't like K motors?

I have used them for some routine servicing and a brake change when I had my old RRS and was happy enough, plus the location is very convenient for me.

Are independent Landrover services much better?

What is the difference between T4 and autologic?

Simon

After seeing the mess they made of my mates 4.4 no I hate them with a passion. He spent over £500 on bits, would have been double that if he had gone to LR. Had it for 3 months and still could not fix it and charged him over £300 for the privalige.

8 hours at Independent Landrover services problem solved, plus another issue and sorted out the mess K Motors left.

Location was good for him as well, being from Lostock Hall, but not always the best idea.

Enough said I think.

T4 - LR didicated
Autologic - general system any make supported.

Thanks for the info Nigel, will give independent Landrover services a whirl when I next need a service, won't be needing them for issues for the next 2 years as the vogue I just bought has 2 years Landrover warranty. Whistle

My bro has the Autologic tool at his garage. Only trouble is I'm miles away from you.
Also, Dan is right you can reset ECU with autologic as they did it with mine after I bought it. FFRR TD6 HSE

Being a lancashire lad I will have to choose somewhere for my next service and any warranty work that might need doing (Warranty Direct). I can see there is at least one very strong negative view on the forum about K Motors with a corresponding strong positive one for ILRS Preston. When I had a problem with suspension height settings none of the independants I spoke to filled me with confidence, including these two, and Windmill Nr. Blackburn (who sold me the car) so I took it to the main dealer in Brock (now Hunters) and although it actually was a straighforward and efficient experince it was expensive.

So the question is anyone have a recommendation for FFRR servicing in the NW, I can get pretty much anywhere but would like it to be a long and meaningful realtionship

For routine servicing, I don't have any issue with K motors, they were efficient, helpful and their work did not invalidate my approved used Landrover warranty. The day before I traded my sport for the full fat they diagnosed a fault for me at no cost (especially as the part that was faulty was under a Landrover parts warranty having been replaced by the dealer at Brock 6 months earlier Twisted Evil )

Up to you, but I would only go to Indi in Preston. Thumbs Up

K Motors, think I hae said my piece
Dealers - dealt with both Brock and Hillendale and customer service defo very lacking. Main reason why I sold both mine.

My TD6 went to my local VAT registered guy, who I trust 100%
