I have had it for about 18 months, It gives peace of mind but just remember every time you turn the car off you have to put the code back in.

When in for service you can leave it in service mode so don't forget to tell them you have a Ghost fitted. 2017 SDV8 4.4 silicon silver AB

mine has been in for two years and would have one again. I understand it can be done on either the engine or gearbox so consider the two methods. The engine method wont allow the engine start remotely to warm/cool the cabin, the FBH is unaffected.

You cant disable it for normal driving, it reactivates when travelling over 30mph (ish) or after a period of driving. It really isnt much of a chore to enter the code sequence, I very quickly got used to it and it feels odd now to go onto a loaner LR and not have to do it. First time FFRR owner

I have had mine for a few months. Easy enough to use, but sometimes it does not work. Try again, may or may not work. Always works eventually, most I have had is 3 goes before working. Tried to figure out where I went wrong. Press keys, normally, slowly, quickly. Foot on brake normally or really firmly, I can't see where I went wrong. Valet mode is good when putting the car in for a service. I sometimes leave it in valet mode for day's so it's a normal start, but that is defeating the reason to have it installed.
Love the thinking behind it, but a bit on the fence
Don't agree with previous answer about having it disabled for normal driving, I have done it lot's of times
& it starts first time

The only time mine has not worked is when I have tried to engage gear and not put the code in first then it cuts the engine,

When I try again, I make sure that its back into park no foot on the brake and then put the code in and it worked.

If I don't then it will lock me out.

I think when it is in service mode you can request it to have a higher speed setting but I am not sure about extending the time that it runs when under speed setting limit. 2017 SDV8 4.4 silicon silver AB

interesting feedback , thankyou. Thumbs Up

my reason for having some kind of extra security is parking in citys like london..

i figure mine being a 21my it has a pretty good immobiliser so with my insurance company not giving any discount for a ghost2 etc then i possibly might not bother.. ... - .- -.

I am more than happy with it, had mine 3+ years. I would fit it to any future compatible vehicle.

Mine is the "No start Engine option", I dont like the idea that a tea leaf could start the car and only when transmission selected, it then activates immobilisation.
I soon got the hang of not nervously looking at where the car is parked (is it still there?) and the subsequent nervous relief Rolling with laughter

You can also enable the option of the phone app which allows start if phone is with you but personally I dont go for that, any fob/phone can be lost/stolen- the push button codes etc really becomes 2nd nature.

It's always worked for me, maybe others have had issues due to sticky/poor contact buttons?

Not sure if you can switch the device off???? why would you??? tea leafs everywhere!

As discussed service mode is great but warn the garage its fitted and if the car drives over 30ish mph for X minutes the car wont start again unless your code is inputted.

Go for it you wont regret it use this link for further info and fill in the form for their recommended installers near you. https://autowatch.co.uk/veh-sec/ghost-2-menu 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Unknown to me until I collected it, my Fifty came with a Ghost 2 already installed. My first reaction was to have it removed as it just seemed unnecessary for me but thought I’d at least give it a chance. Once I had got used to using the button sequence (occasional user error Rolling Eyes ), it has worked fine for me.

Mine is linked to the gearbox so will start without the sequence but will cut the engine when you take it out of park if you haven’t disabled it correctly. I like this version as it means the remote engine start still works. It’s almost second nature now – get in, start the engine, enter button sequence, seat belt on, foot down Thumbs Up . Haven’t yet used service/valet mode so will see how that goes when it’s in the dealers.

I’d never had any type of immobilizer/tracker on previous cars and wouldn’t ordinarily have one unless insurance insisted on it. I’ve always taken the view that, if some oik nicks my FFRR I probably wouldn’t want it back anyway so would take the insurance money and get another. However, at the moment I’m going to stick with the ghost2.

If you only want it for use in cities then a more visible deterrent like a steering wheel disc lock might be worth considering too. Parking in London, it’s unlikely to be the only FFRR in the car park/street, so an obvious anti-theft device means they're more likely to move on to the next one.

i wouldnt want mine back either if it had got stolen Rob.

i'm considering the meta ble42 which uses a BT tag or smartphone pairing to immobilise the vehicle..i'd leave the tag in the FF until i needed to secure it ,i'd then the tag out with me..
or just use the smartphone all the time as i also have my phone with me...

not sure about the ghost2 now as i might forget to burp/fart in the right order... Confused Cool Very Happy ... - .- -.
