Pirelli scorpion SF2

Dear all - I don’t suppose anyone is using the slightly new offering from Pirelli are they? Are they any good? Does anybody have pics of them on the car? Need a new set of boots and am torn between these and the ol’ faithful scorpions……. 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8

That's a tread pattern that says "winter/all season" tyre!

There are so many Scorpion versions these days its become quite confusing. I fitted a set of 22" Scorpion Zero All Season PNCS a month ago and they seem very good. Had the regular Scorpion Verde AS PNCS previously. New tyres always feel good but not sure there is really much of a difference between them.

The Zero's have a better economy and rain rating then the Verde and there was a sale on so thought I'd go for the more expensive tyre.

The SF2 are supposedly better wet grip than the Zero's but a lower fuel efficiency rating

I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the above three Scorpion tyres. 2016 5.0 Loire Blue

This is all great info and much appreciated.

I currently have the scorpion zero as shown attached and am thinking of switching to SF2.

If you have the choice I'd go for the more modern SF's. When I looked they were a lot more expensive then the Verde's but prices vary with special offers and discounts etc. The SF's have the latest snow rating so you can use them in continental mountain areas without chains. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I have the new SF2s on my L405 - I live in the Cairngorms so they have had a bit of a test last week.

I've been running them for 8 months, about 7500 miles. The main tyre to which I compare them is the Michelin CC2, which I had on a D4 as well as currently on a XC60. The tyre they replaced was a standard Scorpion Verde.

Overall a slight increase in road noise, but still at very acceptable levels. I've tried to push them a bit in the autumn wet, to see when they would release a little. I felt at one point that it was a little earlier than I would have expected, but the remainder of the time was very content.

The snow and ice of last week was a good test, our track suffers badly from drifting snow and has claimed a few vehicles over the years. I was impressed, they made good headway both in deep snow but I felt that they were better on hardpack/ice than the CC2. I didn't really push them on the road then, there were vehicles pranging all over the place (I pulled two out of ditches) and I didn't want to add to the chaos.

So, overall impression would be good, nothing alarming yet and fuel consumption barely affected.

Im thinking of getting these SF2's in 55 profile. Harry MEtcalfe has just fitted them to his RR but he is nto going to review them for sometime.

I have SF2's on my early 322 since summer. Much, much quieter than the Goodyears they replaced and are fine in the wet, which were my 2 main criteria. Fuel not bad as a 'B" rating. Not had any snow in Norfolk yet and recent week of deep frost wouldn't test them in the least.
Will try to take a pic or 2 tomorrow and post. Directional tread looked slightly incongruous at first on a 20 year old car, but I soon got used to them. All seasons seem the way to go for me, on any car, in our climate.
