Online Pack With Data Plan + Wifi Enabled 12mths £420!

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been covered in other threads but I could not find anything conclusive.

I received an email from Land Rover this morning asking me to renew my online pack with data plan + WiFi for £420 for 12 months or £670 for 24 months.

Firstly, I am shocked that a car that cost c.£140k does not come with these services for at least three years but the renewal prices are absurd.

If I don't renew, do I still have access to the Remote app/ InControl security etc.?

Can I insert my own data SIM and get the same services?

The FAQs section of the webpage on the LR website is quite confusing.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

If the L460 is the same as the L405, then there will be a lower cost package that excludes the unlimited data to support the in car wifi. Log into the inControl website to look at options / costs MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Thanks Martin.

I took a look and it appears that a bunch of the services like secure tracker and remote etc. last until 2027 and 2029.

It looks like it is just the wifi, music streaming from the native LR software and weather that will be cut off. A bit annoying but I have probably only used them once or twice and not without hassle.

I just received this email as well. Also surprised that it didn't last for longer than 12 months. It's pricey, but I guess I'll just end up paying it. Confused 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

You're basically just paying for a data subscription. Everyone I carry in my car has a decent amount of data, so it would be a waste of time. If not, a 5G 24GB a month data SIM would only cost £60 for 2 years. I know it's not a huge amount of money, but I don't like feeling ripped off. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Censored off is right….i haven’t renewed so all thru my phone . It’s slightly irritating … if I were organised I would have a playlist on the phone. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

There isn’t, but family could tether to your phone or you could plug a portable WiFi with data SIM into the USB and keep it in a storage compartment. Or just stay internet free! MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Whilst I agree the cost of the service is exorbitant. I do like the fact that is uses an external aerial, which for me improves my radio streaming. Using the phone data, I used to get frequent drop-outs.

Connecting the phone to the cars hot-spot gave me better reception and therefore coverage.

However, I don’t think the price being charged is worth the improved signal, I can’t see me renewing when the time comes.

That's the point Miler.

It's a better service with the car antenna, given so little works in the UK including mobile phone signals.

To have to pay through the nose for it is however not acceptable when you've already paid > £100k.

A 3 year plan for in car WiFi with unlimited data? Or a 3 year connectivity plan, which LR do include. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
