My L405 2021 came supplied with a functioning Ghost 2, I have my new owner details updated with Autowatch. It was also supplied with a Scorpian tracker, I have spoken to Scorpian to have it reassigned but upon testing it didn’t work, no gps signal was being sent.

Out of warranty so they recommended a new Scorpian S5 be installed, I’ve looked at their reviews but they are generally quite shocking! Am aware that reviews can be a bit misleading as satisfied users often don’t bother leaving a good review.

I do have the Land Rover Incontrol app operative but think it would be wise to spend a few quid on another Thatcham approved tracker that perhaps the scrotes would have more difficulty finding should it get pinched.

Would really appreciate a suitable tracker recommendation from your experiences.

Metatrak S5 with deadlock immobiliser, got one on my 405 & 494, brilliant device and the customer support is second to none. When I bought the 405 it was already fitted and suffered from occasionally dropping the signal due to the location it was installed in and I'd get a phone call from the monitoring centre. Happened a few times and they rang me and suggested they'd attend a location of my choice the next day to resolve. The technical manager duly turned up the next day after a 150 mile commute and checked the unit over and then fitted a newer designed unit with better reception. Didn't cost me a penny and has been faultless ever since.

Same unit on my 494 and that's been faultless too. The app is very good and allows full monitoring and also allows you to deadlock the immobiliser, so even the proximity fobs won't enable a start, until you re-enable them from the app.

I've got a scorpion track S5 on my SVR which it came with, I don't think it's worth the money for the average domestic customer, the features on it are more geared towards company / fleet use, it's basically an electronic grass to prove you've driven like a and shaft you at a company discaplinary.
You also have to carry a stupid fob with you everywhere


My 911 has a Smartrack protector pro on it, customer service is excellent, they call within 5 minutes of it moving (proven many times when it's been trailered ). It died around 2 years ago (8years old) and they put the newer version on with geofencing for free, i just had a minimal install fee to pay. I paid the lifetime subscription when I first bought it 10 years ago so doesn't cost a penny incomparison the the SVR.


If I was in the market I'd go for another Smartrack product. For me as long it has geofencing and I get instant movement alerts I'm happy, I'd rather leave the immobilser side of things to Ghost so wouldn't look for that in a tracker. Current
