Surely a FFRR owner has a van or Defender for such tasks ? 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Ahh! Ok, the standard seats don't have that bolster bit and nowhere to tuck the belt out of the way.

On mine, you can raise them using the recline controls at the side of each rear seat.

Not a perfect solution but saves some of the walking back & forth

Great tip Alistair. I'd found that I couldn't lower them on that control, but never tried it to raise them - just did and it works so will do that in future. Mike - MPx

Laughing

What a wonderful 1st World problem to have, in this most miserable Christmas for millions.

We here on FFRR should think ourselves extremely fortunate, an just take a moment to think of the suffering of others Sad Crying or Very sad “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I have a 2017 AB with the standard seats and dont really find that they do not fold flat an issue tbh. They fold almost flat and I have transported many different things - Lay-z-boy chair, king single mattress, shelving and all sorts with the seats down. Dog in the back when the seats are up and yes getting the belts out of the way on the powered seat fold a bit of an inconvenience. Its obviously not a ute, which are most popular here in NZ but I find it really versatile.

You could spec the AB without the Executive rear seats

You certainly could:

It might be an age/spec thing but my MY16 has the same seats as Philip above (I quite like the look of those exec seats though Laughing )

And i too have had the seatbelt trapping issue on raising the seats - Thanks for the tip re using the button on the seat - will do that from now on Thumbs Up Ash

Does anyone know what the boot litre space is on the ABs with the fancy seat? I came out of an X7 which had a 750 litre boot and the AB feels materially smaller… would be interested to know what the official space is!

Someone did post that the other day, the difference with the exec is about 200L iirc which is quite a lot…. But from
Memory it was still more than 750. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Google found this for me (2020 model year):
Here’s how the Range Rover capacity for cargo varies between the available configurations:

Range Rover Cargo Space (Standard Configuration)
31.8 cubic feet with seats up
68.6 cubic feet with rear seats flat
Range Rover Cargo Space (With Executive Seating)
24.5 cubic feet with seats up
62.6 cubic feet with rear seats flat
Range Rover Cargo Space (With PHEV option)
28.3 cubic feet with seats up
65.1 cubic feet with rear seats flat

....and with a natty conversions factor of 1 to 28.3168 those Exec seat numbers would be 694 and 1773 in litres. But I thought the exec seat didn't go flat so we're probably talking about different things! Mike - MPx

Thumbs Up Maths says

seats up non exec 900L
Seats up exec 693L

I Stand corrected less than 750 on the exec

The later exec Folded but not very flat and nowhere near as flat as the standard seats. It’s putting me off the exec, as I do reasonably often fold the seats to put stuff in….. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks folks - seems pretty conclusive that there is a material difference. I love all the toys on the AB so it probably wouldn’t have changed what I did but I might’ve looked around more to try and find one of those rare examples where someone had despecced them in the AB model. Having kids every litre of boot space matters!
