Road trip to the Alps

Hey all. Inan few weeks I'll be heading to the Alps in my 2012 Westminster. It's just had a check over at Dartford Transmissions and I'll do an oil change before heading off. Aside from checking fluids, tyres etc, what else should I be doing before going? Or taking with me? And yes, a Euro travel kit, 4 seasons 3 Peaks tyres and snow chains are already being sorted.

Toll tag as Stan says, also if you are planing on going near any cities even if by mistake….. then get a crit Aire sticker. It’s the French emission tag and if you want to go into certain towns or certain bypasses etc you have to have one. You could probably get away with not to the Alps. It they only cost a few quids.

I’ll post a link to the proper site as there are some con artist ones which charge an arm and a leg.

If you’re route takes you through Switzerland (usually if you’re heading for Portes du Soleil via the north side of Lac Leman) you’ll need a Swiss Autoroute vignette. You can buy at the frontier, but you can avoid the queue and buy from the Swiss Tourist office in London.

Thanks. Got a tag but good point, I need to switch it over from another car. CritAire is a good call, just in case. I'll have to check the route to see if we're going near Switzerland.
