L405 sunroof drain failure, quick fix

I am the latest victim of the rusted through drain nipple and the resulting water ingress. I’ve not yet decided on my choice of fixes, however I have implemented a quick fix.
Accessing the issue by partially removing the rear door seal such that I could get my hand between headliner and roof, I have push fitted a length of garden hose over the remainder of the nipple, keeping it in place with a towel pushed behind it, and trailed it into a receptacle on the back seat, per attached pic.

Hope this helps future victims! J

So what’s the long term fix for this? One of the things making me hesitant to move on…..

Long term fix.... best approach to keep the drains clear and clean. There are a couple of options described elsewhere on this group; I will be aiming for a simple solution in the coming days, and will report on progress and degree of success. J

Thanks for answering my quick query. Thought it was happening to them all, but if they don’t corrode if kept clear, that’s a bit easier to check..thanks..
