He's asking which type, I thought the spiral ones were only made by Optima...!

Standard flat plate are fine for a fatty.... Thumbs Up Pete

Ahem! Decorum, dear boy, decorum!

A more appropriate emoji for this Gentlemens’ forum would be “ Embarassed

Pete was only trying to explain, not criticise, I feel?

I too am ignorant of what a “Spiral Plate AGM battery” is, perhaps someone can enlighten us? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Viggy, was just clearing up what I thought the OP meant.... Bow down

I don't know much about it apart from spiral wrapped has lots of advantages over flat plate but costs a shed load more and isn't needed on a fatty.

IIRC spiral wound is one continuous lead plate wound around inside the battery, this uses Unicorns and fairy dust to make more oooomph.... Thumbs Up Pete

I’ll have to stop using emojis, that emoji was me laughing at myself for not knowing but it was not interpreted that way, but anyway that’s what I was doing
