My recently acquired 2011 L322 requires a new oil cooler. The used car warrantor has declined the independent specialist I wanted to use and is saying I must use these guys. Their web site suggests that are a used car dealer that does services and body repairs. Does anyone have any experience of them?

Also that have quoted this as a four hour job. Is that enough?
Any advice appreciated.

No experience of that dealer unfortunately but I have recently changed the oil cooler myself and if they are quoting 4 hours labour then that would seem pretty reasonable, there is a fair bit of faffing to get to it.

Did you buy it from them or are they simply local and approved by the insurers?

If you check the warranty they usually have a maximum hourly rate they will pay, typically £70 or so, they may be rejecting it because of this perhaps although you SHOULD have the option to pay the difference I would hope if you feel it’s better going to a specialist.

Have a read of the policy cover and maybe give them another call.

Hi both, thanks for the replies. The warranty is capped at £50 an hour, which I thought was low but they have agreed it with Hartington. I bought the car elsewhere so have no experience at all. The garage I wanted to use was charging £65 an hour and quoted 8 hours which is why I was worried about Hartington. I am going to go with Hartington and cross my fingers!
