Best replacement wheel nuts

Posting here as my query is more universal than L405 specific.

When recently removing the rear wheels on my L405 for the first time in my ownership I discovered that I have the usual problem of swollen nuts (ooh er missus! Laughing).

Can anyone recommend some decent solid (non-capped) replacements or should I go with new LR capped originals and just plan on replacing them as they go the same way in future?

If going with capped ones - just make sure no-one uses an impact wrench on them, insist anyone takes the wheels on & off using an old fashioned socket.

It's the rattling that kills them.

I used the painted ones from LR Parts. Not the cheapest but didn’t want to skimp with a 3 tonne vehicle (L322)

I bought genuine wheel nuts from the main dealer for my L322. £69 for 20 which I though was great seeing as I’ve seen people on eBay selling them for a tenner each

The Wrington Engineering ones are awesome! And you do need to consider your in Scotlandshire so whatever you choose will rot much quicker with the salt you have on your roads up there sir... Thumbs Up

I'll just replace mine every 3 years before they start to corrode and swell at that price Rolling with laughter

If you buy the nuts with caps on, take the caps off and apply a lot of grease and then refit nuts they don’t seem to corrode. Never had an issue doing this. Thumbs Up

Came across these at 1/4 of the price of Wrington. Anyone fitted them? Are they decent or Chinese crap?

I'm a bit biased as I forked over a few quid for the Wrington ones and took all my old nuts off, I also threw away the locking nuts which have caused me trouble in the past. I think at first glance these alloy nuts would do a grand job but they are alloy, the Wrington ones are stainless steel and highly polished to a smooth gloss finish in fact each one is like a jewel (I think I am getting carried away here) Rolling with laughter I found that even if the standard nuts swelled the next size up socket gets them off anyway. Geoff

As far as nuts go the Wrington ones do look nice but my main concern is to eradicate the swollen issue more than look pretty practically when my alloys are kerbed. Laughing

Have you got a pic of the polished nuts fitted? 2016 5.0 Loire Blue

I bought a set of the Wrington ones from a member on here and they are superb quality. Very expensive but worth it if you are keeping the car long term.
