There is nothing wrong with the way my car drives or rides on the road but one of my rear shocks does have some light misting on it.

There appears to be a number of shock absorber options for my car. I have the variable dynamics system but some sites recommend fairly cheap Munroe/blistering shocks (£80 to £100) for the rear.

Could anyone please recommend replacement shocks that they have fitted and been happy with and is it something I could do on my drive with the right tools?

Can you please also recommend replacement shocks for the front as I may replace all 4 to refresh the car.

Value for money is important but I don’t want anything poor quality or short lived as planning on keeping this car for many more years.

Misting on the rear shocks is normal and nothing to worry about unless you can feel a handling problem. Both front and rear shocks are very tough and will go big miles before they loose effectiveness. Usually people change them when the external fluid reservoirs corrode on the rears or the air bags start to leak on the fronts and it’s quicker and easier to change the whole strut. They are not cheap……
